The Anomaly is a great science fiction movie. Noel Clarke (Mickey from Doctor Who) plays Ryan. His nemesis is well played by Rob Lowe lookalike Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries). Ryan’s love interest, played by Alexis Knapp, is the weakest link. A solid supporting cast (including veteran Brian Cox, Luke Hemsworth, and UFC fighter Michael “The Count” Bisping), excellent fight choreography, and simple but effective special effects combine with an interesting and original science fiction premise to make this little known film possibly the best science fiction of 2014.
