A very depressing tale of two kidnappings, one of a young

couple’s daughter, the other seven years before by two young girls. When the woman whose baby they abducted and murdered suggests that they are responsible for the recent abduction, the detectives working the case, one of whom found the dead child in the first abduction, begin to investigate the girls as suspects. The acting is good, including strong performances by Dakota Fanning and Elisabeth Banks (whom is unrecognizable as Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games), as is the writing. The tone of the movie is dark and depressing, from start to finish. There are no happy characters and no happy endings in this film.
