Book Review: “Guardians of the Galaxy: The Best Story Ever”

* * C

Sadly, Guardians of the Galaxy: Best Story Ever is not the best story ever. In fact, it is not a story at all. Rather, it is a collection of somewhat randomly selected episodes involving the guardians. Though not without merit, it completely fails as a graphic novel. I find these kinds of books really annoying when they are not advertised as what they are: an anthology of short stories.

The most interesting story was a very early Stan Lee Thor story that features Drax the Destroyer and recaps his back story. He was a human, Art Douglas, who was killed by Thanos, then reincarnated by Kronos as Drax and given the mission to destroy Thanos. This origin story would be a cool reveal for the new Avengers: Infinity War film.
